Gyubee: All You Can Eat Japanese Barbecue
This is the best AYCE Barbecue joint in Toronto so far. I tend to skip breakfast for a very
heavy supper (read: All You Can Eat). They serve many kinds of good quality
meat and delicious side dishes at $35/ person (dinner menu). They also have a lunch menu for less $ and options. I have been here so many times and have
learned what to order and what not to.
My faves:
1. Pepper Kalbi (thick cut) seriously
will eat about four portions of this each visit)
2. Miso Beef Loin (thick cut)
3. Crème Brule
4. Enoki Mushroom
Pepper
Kalbi is the best! Seriously, I eat about four portions of this each visit. It’s
one of the thick cut options with just the right amount of fat, seasoned with
black pepper. It takes time to cook but it’s worth it. Miso Loin is slightly
thinner with less fat compared to pepper kalbi and well marinated. Oh and if you never had a beef tongue, they taste just like regular meat but a bit chewier.
Not a fan
of their poultry and seafood here, for me they were a bit blend and honestly, I
just love meat! Pork belly isn’t bad either but the fat provokes fire and my
pieces always ended up burnt.
Many
delicious side dish! Kimchi, bibimbap, tofu, miso soup, butter corn, enoki
mushroom, lettuce and many more.
Tips:
- This
is a very busy and popular restaurant. Put your name on the waitlist via Yelp App
to join the lineup. Wait times can go up to 2 hours, no joke!
-
Don’t
fill yourself with too many carbs or side dish
-
If
it’s your first time, order one portion each to learn which one is the good
stuff
-
If
you pay cash, you get $2 off per person
-
Try
Crème Brule for dessert! You can take your Melona Ice Cream to go as well.
-
Walk
home!
PS: no
outfit today, always make sure I’m comfortable while enjoying my food!
my fave too!
